Just slowly painting bits the old 45 was trying some chrome paint on the grab handle I read to use a gloss black base then the chrome well to my surprise it didn't look like chrome when finished it came out a colour something closer to the factory grey instead I then done the glove box and gauge surround. The previous research I done said the brand of chrome I got from Repco was suppose to be good but I'll just stick with how it came out looks ok to me. Done some of the chassis a while ago replaced the rear bumper as the old one was very rusty, new spring, sway bar bushes also fitted new seat belts the seats were recovered a few yrs before I bought the car.

No pic yet but painted the bull bar and front bumper black. Also cleaned the dirt out of the inside and the sun visors are not that colour any more will be painting the dash blue when I do the rest of the car not a big fan of the current colour unfortunately the whole under bonnet inner guards have been painted the same but it was a farm vehicle so they would have used what they had.

One of the great things about painting a 40 is that the bonnet, wings and front valance all easily unbolt so the inner wings can get the colour change too. it also means that the wing supports can have all the accumulated crud cleaned out thus avoiding the main cause of rot in the front wings.
All looks pretty good so far!

Regards,

Rodger
