... yet Chris Evans is still prepared to pay £12m on a used motor.
The car in question is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO - homologation special (the 'O' of GTO standing for Omologato).
Evan's car doesn't have a tremendous provenance - in its heyday it was used mainly for hillclimbing but did finish 2nd overall in the 1964 Francochamps 500Kms at Spa driven by Jean Guichet & Carlo Facetti - but that has to be weighed against a production run of just 36 cars.
The big question in my mind is: Will Evans paint the car white?
