Your "landcruiserclub" site looks good ! I looked for a suitable open topic but couldn't find one. I will open this topic where we can discuss the J80 Front Diff, Centre Diff, and Rear Diff.
I have an HDJ 80 from 1990 5 speed, and it is equipped with Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland) options such as 3x axle locks and an additional heater and so on. Diff Locks are needed because a lot of snow can fall in winter.
The Rear lock light was flashing and I changed the sensor but the fault did not go away. The lock turned on, which was fine, but the flashing was annoying, so I thought of replacing the whole lock motor. I believe that the lock motor is original and has never been replaced so that is over 35 years old!
The question is whether the REAR Diff needs to be ON if I take the lock motor off or not?
