front diff seal leak bit of a rant

Hi Guys
Had my front end rebuilt a few weeks ago by Toyota.
This had to happen because one of the CVs broke apart.
Anyway I supplied all the parts as usual, some from Milner and the inner seals from Toyota.
I discoverd a big leak one day after a drive and booked it in again to get it sorted.
Well Mr T came back to me with a bill for the work.
The garage manager would not budge on the price and maintained, after speaking to the mechanic that I did not give any inner seals.
Eventually I had a fair outcome which was no bill to pay after the intervention of the Top guy there.
But the trust between us is now down to what is written down at time of leaving in the cruiser regaring what parts I give them.
Sad really but such is life in the real world that is constantly becoming more and more offical and the people who you thought you knew, your not so sure anymore.
So now they have me wondering where my inner seals went to and will or when will I get a leak on the other side.
cheers

Well done for sticking to your guns.
With the amount of CV's you've gone through and now the seal problem,
I'd say its time to try find another garage. But I know that's easier
said than done. Having said that, most Tooyota garages won't install
non-toyo parts....
With the garages less experienced with Cruisers, it might be an idea to
ask them for a copy of the section of the workshop manual that they
intend following. This might make them at least read it and not omit
doing some of the basics associated with an axel re-build - like
greasing up the CV's or changing the innerseals.
A budy of mine recently collected an isuzu from a garage in Monastrevin
after a supposed major service. We had marked the filters, fluid levels
before it went in.
They hadn't changed any of the filters and the sump nuts were still
dirty - hadn't dropped the oil!
Invoice for over 1500 euro! And when confronted the boss man said all
work was done! When we pointed out the marks on the filters he
backtracked and said he was having some problems with some of his
staff.....
Anyway. What can you do. You have to keep the karma intact and live
free.

The cars are OK though.
Sorry for you.
Good luck for the future then !
