Today I filled the LPG tank and the petrol tank, Gas £60.66, petrol £82, a total cost of £142.66 :o , before filling, the fuel gauge read about half full, after brimming it it now reads empty

No, I drove in to the petrol station with half a tank and after filling drove out with it saying empty :?

Hole in the tank? Youve just poured £82 worth of petrol on the forecourt floor! :P

I think I would have noticed that

see what happens when you've used a bit, maybe it will start working again and it's just the full end of the sensor has failed.

Thanks Jon, I did wonder if it might right itself, I'll wait and see.
