Productive day, paint arrived on friday.
Cleaned up the rear end and put all the rear bumper back together with some powder coated goodies.

Beautiful looking truck there Will, well done

When I fitted OEM arches to my HZJ 80 (it didn’t have arches from stock) I used some strip plasticine stuck to the wings and carefully pressed the arches in the right position, into the plasticine.

When removed, they left nice markings in the plasticine, so I could drill the holes in the same place as the clips on the arches.

It worked for me, but I don’t particularly recommend it over other methods. Mine aren’t perfect either, there are some tiny gaps between body and trim, but not enough for me to lose sleep over.

It’s a crappy job to tackle, but you’ll get there

Slow going again, can't for the life of me to get the wing i got off Garry to fit so i have ordered or i hope i have two brand new ones from toyota but they are currently showing as out of stock till end of december so fingers crossed i might be able to get my hands one of the last pairs available. I have got my winch bumper and wheel carrier back from the powder coaters, raptor lined my arches, used dynamat on the inside of every door and built up my wheels with a new sett of km3 mud terrains.

Interested on the results of the dynamat.

Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now, used the buzz weld rust ecapsulater on the outside of the inner wings followed by WAR paint also made by buzz weld. I have fitted a new oem electric aerial which I'm super stoked to have can't get over pushing that button and watching it go up and down although it was alot harder to fit than i though it would be getting that wire threw the fire wall is not easy. Ns wing and flare is on, i have used tiger seal to bond it all together along with new mounting hardware and to finish it off an self generating cavity wax to keep the rust and moisture away.

Well done Will... looking real good man! It's a long road with these trucks and you can sleep well at night knowing that your front end is well up to scratch and beyond!

Awesome mate!

Slow going again but im practically finished just need to re fit my snorkel, still a billion and one things i would like to do ie lockers, freewheeling hubs, draws, fridge etc the list goes on but for the time being im happy with how it has gone.
Sorted my wing situation out by just buying a brand new one from toyota it fits perfect but it was obviously rather pricey it is a 24v one so the holes for the flares where all different so i spent some time making sure that it was all perfect and got them mounted up.
Winch and freshly painted bumper are back on with some nice shiny factor 55 bits.
Had my mirrors painted satin black and treated them to some new glass, Yodatec brackets are back on and couldn't not put new shiny lights on there, so got some iron man spots and some new 7" spots for the bumper to finish it all off, ended up running a cb cabel and aerial through the door to the mount as well so i don't have to pull all the mirror and wiring out in the future to put one in where i wanted. Also treated my self on black friday to some Rago goodies only just got round to fitting them.

Bit more of an update, this last month i have moved onto the engine giving it a good over haul and its running like a dream.
Head has been cleaned up
Cylinders have been honed
Valves re cut and new oil seals
New head gasket
Timing belt and tensioner
Ac belt
Piston rings
Big end bearings
Head studs
New radiator
Full gasket kit
Used all oem parts accept the big end bearings as it seems there no longer available if you order them you will probably end up with .25.
Ended up giving the valve cover a coat of paint as well.
