My name: Ata

My Cruiser: 1984 fj45 Landcruiser pickup

Mods: The Cruiser is almost all original except the wooden bed I made for it and the lights on the bumper which the previous owner put there I purchased the vehicle at its original 20500 km (37000 km right now)

Plans for Cruiser: The only solid plan I got for it right now it to find a original PTO winch. (Im using a winch from 1980 s but its not PTO)

4x4 Experience: If Im not out of town I go offloading once or twice every weekend. Even though its all original it is a mud monster.

Hi Ata,

And welcome.

Your truck looks really good and is a detachable hardtop too which, I think, is quiite rare.

Strictly speaking it is a FJ45 and pto winches are like hen's teeth but it might be worth searching the Australian sites to find one.

Regards,

Rodger

Hi Rodger

You mean my truck is a FJ 45. When I bought it it was registered as a fj 40.

I always worked on American classics before I got this amazing truck so I'm still learning about it. What are the difference between fj 40 and 45 regarding the looks of the vehicle

Funny thing the Ministry of Forestry of Turkey first bought these so there should be bunch of fj 45 s in Turkey that are registered as fj 40s

Best Regards

Ata

Hi Ata,

These trucks are all the same to the back of the cab, except the wheelbase and they are all 40 series.

I have attached some charts that will, hopefully, see the differences between the FJ40, FJ45 and BJ45. F designates petrol: B designates diesel.

There were also some short wheelbase FJ45s - the wheelbase was 2650mm rather than the 2950mm.

Hopefully this info will help you but if you have any questions, I am sure that between the 40 series guys on here, we can help.

Regards,

Rodger
