Hi
Anyone know the total quantity (ounces or grams) or R 134 refrigerant the 2006 Troopy /78 needs to fill the air conditioning system. It is a single system, ie no rear a/c system. Toyota Factory fitted system.
I have researched and found a variety of numbers.
All guidance gratefully received. Thanks.

Although i have a 79, which is the same a/c system as yours, and i don't run R134A in my system, in my experience the best way to get the correct amount is to fill enough to achieve the correct pressure for the prevailing ambient temperature, and fine tune the amount by striving for maximum pressure differential between low and high side pressures (@ compressor engaged).

On machines and vehicles i have filled sometimes, it has occurred that if done done at low ambient temperature, the "correct" fill weight was too much at high ambient temperatures, where the high side pressure would spike to over 300 psi, which would trigger the high pressure cut-out switch.

Hi
Thanks for that.
I found out the right number is 450 grams. Mine does use R 134.
Yes depends on ambient air temp too to get right high/low,pressure.
For info the 1995-99 Kia two litre uses exactly the same denso compressor ie compatible for a change out if needed.
