I'm the happy owner of an HDJ100 and just crossed the Sahara with it (Morocco/Mauritania).
Hopefully I hade a problem at the end near the road.
Problem is fixed but I understood... I desperately need an ODB scanner to help me if I have problems in future in the bush...

Does any one can tell me what scanner can read that ODB socket of my Toyota Land Cruiser year 1999, 4.2 Diesel engine 1HD-FTE (Europe).

Any help will be welcome.

I made a lot of search in google, lots of scanners, couldn't find one for this car.

Thank you.

The HDJ100 has M-OBD (that's a Toyota version of OBD), which uses the same plug as OBD-ii. To read it, the easiest and cheapest is to use a mini-VCI cable with the TechStream app on any old windows laptop. You find mini-VCI on the net, shipped with a hacked version of TechStream, for around 30 £. If you have windows XP or thereabouts, the installation is easy. Anything newer than Win7, or Mac OS, is a bit more work to install on, but it can be done. Search this forum or mud to find more info. Lotsa threads on the matter.
