Hi I'm Jim living in Surrey England I have a 76 hj45 I use it as my work vehicle I'm having fuel problems I've had the injection pump and fuel pump overhauled , replaced the fuel line and fuel filter but the truck still stalls it started when climbing a steep hill I've now checked the air filter and it's shot could that make the engine stall and restrict the engine of diesel

Hi Jim,

The shot air filter won't help. Change it.

Did you change the flexible pipe between the chassis and the engine? As they get old they rot/decay internally thereby reducing the amount of fuel that flows. I had this same problem years ago and replaced that flexible fuel line and all has been well since.

Regards,

Rodger

In the engine bay there should be a short (8 in) flex fuel pipe between the body/chassis mounted fuel line from the tank and the engine to allow for the engine's movement.
