High everyone.
Just new to this site and asking for help on how to remove the reverse switch for my HJ61 series land cruiser station wagon. Have exposed the switch but can't get a tool on the switch to remove from top of gearbox.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Why would you? Won't it fail rego without that?
Hi, moggy1968 thanks for your reply.
Your right it would fail rego check. That's why I want to replace it, as it is broken and not functioning.
The problem with replacement is the switch screws into the top of the gear box which is inside the vehicle. Once you have lifted the carpet and removed the inspection plates to access the switch you find it sits in a very tight position and doesn't allow me to get a spanner, socket, or other tools I've tried to loosen it.
It would appear a special ring spanner with a long throat may be the answer? That's why I'm asking if anyone has had to 'remove the switch and how did they do it'
Thanks again,
Chris Wallace.

Ah, gotcha, it read like you just wanted to remove it. Have you tried the Facebook page for Australian 60 series owners, sure someone on there would know.
