How much do you think it's worth?

Hello forum people. There's a chance I'm going to have to sell the cruiser but I'm not sure how much I'd ask for it. I don't like being dishonest when it comes to selling cars so I like to divulge everything that's not great with it, but I'm unsure how it'll affect the price.
I bought it a couple of years ago with the intention of keeping it for its lifespan, unfortunately my financial circumstances have degraded quite badly ( I worked 10 hours last Friday and earnt £26 before paying for fuel, so I'm doing something wrong). There's a possibility that if I can get a new job or if I could somehow do less miles then I can keep it, if not I'll need something with better MPG.

So it's a 4.5l petrol auto in grey.

Bad points are:

It wasn't looked after very well by it's previous owners. What I mean by that is they spent alot (really alot) of money on parts and regular expensive servicing but never washed it. The owner worked abroad, came home during the winter, drove it around salty scottish coastal roads and then parked it up for 6 months in the summer without cleaning it. The upshot is that the underneath looked like it had been left in the ocean and depsite some work (more about that in a minute) it can make working on it (unless you have the right equipment) a right pain in the bum.

There's a grumbling noise when backing off the throttle pedal that lasts a second or two. I've no idea what this is. It's very annoying.

There's a small rust patch on each front door.

The rear door is toast and is held together by willpower alone.

The 'D' light on the instrument cluster has blown.

The front heated seats don't work.

The aircon doesn't work.

Front birfield joints clicking.

Will need new rear brake calipers.

Good points (I may miss some things out here as I'm working from memory).

It's only done 125,000 miles.

Interior in good condition.

Stako LPG system with 80litre underslung tank.

It's been regularly serviced with good quality oils, including the auto box, transfer box and differentials

The underside has been blasted by an industrial sand blaster and undercoated and top coated. Any areas it couldn't quite get too I've spent much time sanding, treating and painting with two part epoxy paint then waxoyled.

Part of a sill was cut out, replaced and painted this has been done professionally and he's done an excellent job.

New radiator, new condensor, new thermostat, new heater hoses to rear cabin heater, new air filter recent oil filter change. Internal heater matrixes front and rear given a good clean out.

New Iron Man 2 inch lift (shocks and springs).

5 Steel wheels and (I think) 285x75x16 BFGoodrich AT tyres all with excellent tread.

Second hand good condition back door to replace crusty one but needs spraying.

Toyota rear wheel carrier for spare (as LPG tank takes its place up) with numberplate holder (needs fitting).

New Toyota springs and fitting kit for handbrake shoes. New Milners handbrake cable.

Petrol filler pipe has been through electrolysis and painted but majority of pipe and breather has been replaced with flexible fuel resistent hose.

Fairly recently had new front calipers and brake pipes.

New battery.

Front axle service included Toyota inner axle seals, new wiper and gasket kit, Toyo wheel bearings and trunion bearings, new front dust shields. Swapped birfield joints sides to hopefully cure clicking but actually got worse.

Second hand front diff lock actuator and new Toyota rear diff lock actuator, fitted by diff specialist.

High range centre diff lock switch added.

All four propshaft joints recently replaced with Toyo joints.

I think that's it although I'm sure I've missed some stuff. If anyone with more experience than me could suggest a realistic price to advertise it for it would be appreciated.

Finally here's picture:

Sorry you're having to let the truck go Dan, I know you've done a lot to it and had a struggle with the prop UJ/s.

As for value, I can't help you, but for sure it's a more attractive buy than before you did the work, especially the underbody clean-up.

It looks good in the photo, and the mileage is not excessive, so I would pitch it high to start with.

good luck with the sale

Thanks very much, although there's not as much work done to it as many others on here, there's a lot of effort gone into it! B-)
I've got my fingers crossed that my management will be making some modifications to where I work so that I don't have to visit it as many times each day as I'm doing about thirty miles a day at the moment. But since I'm working for a council that could be anytime between now and the death of the sun :p
If I sell I was thinking of starting bidding between 2 and 3k what do you think?

As I say, I can't help. But why so low...?

The bodywork looks good and from the photos, as good as any other 5k truck.

Maybe someone else can give you a better starting price...

its petrol clive not worth very much here i am afraid. i think your guess is not a bad one although it sounds bad unneath to be fair. like clive said clean up underneath it and see what you get but i expect low 2g really.

Mmmmm, sorry Dan, hope I didn't get your hopes up there. You obviously knew the market better than me...:whistle:

I've found starting high tends to put people off, so I haven't had a single bid, then I put the vehicle on low, spend a week flapping and end up selling it for more than the original start price! There is of course an element of risk with that but you can always put a reserve on if you like.

I wouldn't go into too much detail about what it was like when you got it, detail what it is like now and what you have done to it to get it there. Aslo emphasise the gas conversion and what that relates to in real term running costs (whats the MPG on gas and how does that relate to diesel, i.e. the equivalent diesel MPG you would need to run it for the same cost). That might help to push some people who are worried about consumption.
