knuckle Housing Cavity - MP or Molly Grease

Guys

The axel rebuild is still on-going - It's kind of like flight of the phoenix in so far as the garage beer fridge is nearly empty & if the LC's not back on the road soon i'll die of thirst.


Quick question - if anyone knows the answer please let me know.

What grease do you use to pack into the knuckle housing cavity - MP or Molly?

Reason I ask is because you're supposed to use MP for bearings - the knuckle housing is where the swivel bearings are.

Some of the web sites i've checked shows lads using what appears to be molly in the knuckle housing...... Interestingly all my swivel bearings were knackered - possibly from someone using the wrong grease before me?

I can't seem to get a definitive answer anywhere.

led to some confusion because Jeff said Moly EP then mentioned MP Valvoline.
Clarification followed =96 LCML consensus was Moly.

Should be detailed is a service manual, haven=92t got my 40 series SM to hand,
Haynes for the 40 series says GP General Purpose.

Appreciate that.

If i was betting I would have gone with with MP in the housing - only because of the bearings in there. But the fact that all the aussies were using the same blue Molly had me confused....

I'm assuming it's ok to pack the swivel bearings with Moly....
