LED Lights

OK, have heard back from George and he has provided the following
pricing:
maplight & two domes would be $90. Plus $5 for international
pack/ship, so total of $95.
Those are US dollars, so at current exchange rates should be around the
?55 mark.
If you don't want the full set, there is no problem just ordering domes
($25 each) or map lights ($40) on their own.
Any takers - please reply to this and I will confirm and place the
order.

Julian - count me in please. If he is offering the LED door mounted
lights I would be interested in a pair as well as the load area
fluorescent light he mentions in his article or name of supplier of the
fluorescent light..
Thanks Gareth.

Hello,
That's a steep price, IMHO.
A 3W Lumiled Luxeon LED (Star, High Dome Lens) at RS costs about a
tenner, and they are not the cheapest.

Hi Roman,
Are these direct replacements for the standard Dome lights or do you
need to make modifications/circuits to get them running?
Obviously most of us would be interested in a cheaper solution.

Julian,
It's just the LED but adding a resistor and an extra bit for fititng
shouldn't be a problem at all. Look at this page:
http://tinyurl.com/6doty and also search the catalogue for a 5W
versosion (ca 22 quid but I doubt it makes a big difference in therms
of function).

Hi Roman,
But is that all you need for the circuit - I got the impression that
you needed a bit more.
Unfortunately the link has expired.

Hi Roman,
OK. It has been a long time since I have played around with
electronics so am very rusty.
Have you done anything along these lines for yourself?

Julian,
Not yet and I am afraid I won't have the time for it for a while. But
I can't see why it shoud be a problem to add a 47 Ohm 5W resistor in
series to limit forward current below 350mA at 14.5V .
