Let this be a warning

Dammit Chas how many times have i told its not a race , your retired , you could drive 100 miles a day and stay in a 5-star hotel every night and you would still get there when you planned to .

Never mind you dodged a bullet so count your blessings eh , if a blood clot had switched you off at 80mph on the Autobahn ........................

I do hope it just one of those things they can put right though so best of luck in getting well soon

I reckon the sexy socks would do it. After all DVT started showing itself on flights, and it’s still sitting still in cramped conditions for some time.

Glad you’re through it Chas.

Get an old LandRover Chas, with a very heavy clutch... It'l give Ya left leg some exercise:laughing-rolling:

In the old 'Series' Landrovers the seats were upright and your left foot could be placed square on the floor. I drove mine from Edinburgh to Somerset (a few years ago) and it was surprisingly comfortable with none of the leg cramps or ankle strain that I occasionally get in the 'lounge-type' seats in modern cars.

Of course, I couldn't hear the radio or go much above 60 and the rain came in - but that's Landrovers .

I'm sure you'll be back on the road soon, Chas.

Bob.

I wasn't racing Shayne, for the trip out I did the tourist thing and took a roundabout route to take in a couple of countries I hadn't driven in before, I was in no rush, I had actually given myself extra days to do the trip and it was the same back to Calais, it may have been better if I had driven there more directly and had less time sitting behind the wheel.
Thanks for the good wishes, I think the warfarin is doing the trick, in less than two days the pain in my leg had gone, the hospital doctor said that was a very good sign, it meant the clot was dissolving away.

They're going to measure me up for the sexy socks :text-woo:, I'm not sure what it is they have to measure though.

People think dvt is a flying thing but you can get it from any prolonged inactivity. I’ve seen a 25 year old with a pulmonary embolism because he spent all his time on the sofa gaming. You are unlucky though, think of all the lorry drivers etc who sit for long periods without a problem.
If you can change from warfarin to one of the NOACs like apixaban then it saves having to mess about with bloood tests.
If you get a bang on the head get it checked out in hospital, you’re at significantly higher risk of a bleed on the brain after a head injury if you’re on warfarin or similar.
