Master Cylinder problem, has anyone come across this before?

I have a 2002 Amazon TD and a couple of months ago the brake fluid level warning light came on. I topped up the fluid and thought no more of it then it came on again after a couple of months so I topped it up again and started looking for a leak.
Sure enough I think I have found it. It is from the white plastic elbow the exits the master cylinder and looks like a gravity feed to the brake booster system. Or at least that's what I think it is, its certainly not high pressure as it only has rubber hose with hose clips on it. The actual leak is from where the elbow plugs into the master cylinder and not the hose end. I'm not sure how they seal, it could be just an O ring and a tweist type lock that's come loose but I'm a bit wary of tearing into it without any prior knowledge of what I might find.
Thanks for any help
