GPS trackers will be jammed at popular hiking spots during a major Nato exercise involving the Army, Royal Navy and the RAF.

The military will block satellite signals at Faraid Head and Loch Ewe between October 5 and October 16 during Operation Joint Warrior.

Mountaineering Council of Scotland chief officer David Gibson warned hikers to be aware of the jamming and cautioned against relying on GPS.
