Hi Julian
Did you come across any archaeology? a close friend of mine lives in
morocco, she has spent most of her adult life recording archaeology in the
mountains - as elsewhere in north Africa there is loads of it, its just
knowing where it can be found.
How did your kids enjoy the experience? do you think they'll remember much
of it?
I'm off back to Algeria and Libya in april next year for an extended stint
and I'm looking forward to it.
I'm glad you enjoyed your travels, and the scenery looks lovely too - I'll
check your pictures again later when you've got their captions sorted and
perhaps have more uploaded. I've never been to Morocco but my friend keeps
on asking me to join her, maybe I will someday.
This was your first trip to North Africa wasn't it? I bet you'll be soon
champing at the bit to get back again! once bitten....
Regards
Renate, still hanging in there with the ol'walrus.

Hi Renate,
We spent a 2-3 days around Erg Chebbi spending one night in Merzouga,
camping in the dunes (North East corner) and then another night at the
northern end after a trip to Rissani before heading down to Taos and
taking the Piste to Zogora, turning off in the middle (by the dried up
lake, can't remember the name) and heading north.
The dunes were beautiful, amazingly quiet, an experience to drive in,
but there is so much more stunning country to see that we didn't spend
that long there.
