Hi.
My background is 30 years of Infantry soldiering in the British
and other armies . I now work as a Battlefield Guide
(Ypres/Somme/Berlin/Dunkirk) ,as a means of financing my travels.
I own a 98 Colorado VX automatic with a rooftent which I have so far
taken to Morocco,Croatia and most of Europe.
I am preparing for a round the world trip in 2007 (draw system,60L water
tank, new shocks/springs/tyres ) and to shake things out I intend to
drive down to Mauretania this December for a few months.
I normally travel alone, prefer wild places and have driven 'Cruisers in
the Sahara, Namibian Desert (including Skeleton Coast), S Africa
,Colorado etc etc.
I know damn all about vehicle mechanics/electrics etc which is why I
opted for the most reliable vehicle I could buy. I'm open to any advice
that anyone can give me about keeping the vehicle going on a long
journey and any suggestions for improved comfort/ reliability and
general tricks of the trade.
Regards,Martin

Martin,
Welcome onboard. With your background I hope you'll teach us a few
tricks of the trade. Maybe our paths cross somewhere in Mauri this
January.

Hi Martin
I had to stop drooling and put my tongue back into my mouth reading your exploits. I am only so jealous of what and where you have been. Anyway ill slidder back to my little uninteresting corner of an uninteresting place with no deserts or places of interest for cruiser lovers.
