Hey Jester,

Welcome to the Forum. Looks like a really interesting build. I'll definitely be staying tuned.

With regards to the twin shock setup up front and seeing as it's going to be used for races, why did you choose to go with that setup as opposed to using something along the lines of the Fox Shocks, like a single 2.5 remote reservoir shock for example?

Cheers
Ryan

My customer specifically specified the Koni's for th build. He has a friend in South Africa that did a similar job to a hilux race truck many years ago.

Just talking out loud mate, For what other reasons are these tubs used for. Is it just the rot factor or was weight a issue as well. Why not base it on a old chasie?
Will it be alot easyier for you with it sat on the 80 And what engine is it going to be runing?
THanks karl

The easier build would have been a 40 on a 40 with a 40 engine. My customer wanted a race prepared 40, that can also be used all year around. He used to have a swb 40 and became tired of the leaf spring suspension in competition. He decided that he wanted all the best of an 80 with 40 body and interior. The engine is a 12v 4.2 1HD-T .

The fibreglass body, is for weight reduction and corrosion factors.

It's not just 80 axles, it's a complete 80 chassis with running gear and drive train.

would love to see how far along in the build you're at
