Hey guys, been an 80 owner for some years and just recently purchased my second 80 for our new home in Costa Rica, we have been living here back and forth for a long time but I have finally finished building our house so we moved for good, and with our first baby on the way I had to upgrade from my little Hilux.

New Rig:
1997 80 Series VX, 5 speed, 1HD-T, 150k miles, 8 passenger
No mods but some cool factory stuff:
-Heavy duty factory bumper with factory Aisin winch
-Ice maker/fridge center console
-Part time 4WD
-Rear AC system
-Sub fuel tank and altimeter

I owned a 96 80 with the 4.5 petrol in the states for 5 years. My goal with this newly purchased 80 is reliability. The roads where we live are mostly gravel/dirt and much worse during the rainy season. We have to cross a river everyday to go anywhere. I plan to add 2 inches of lift, stick with 285 tires, a roof rack, and fix and maintain everything that has been neglected by it's previous owners. Overall it is in fantastic shape with zero rust, but I want to get it nearly perfect.

4x4 Experience:
Fairly extensive with Wranglers and XJ's in the past, going to 4x4 parks. I have spend years with my very capable 88 2.8d Hilux here in Central America dealing with the messy roads/trails we get out here on the coast.

Looking forward to contributing to the 80 discussions here on the forum.
