Hi all!

first time on the site, but my son and i are thinking about a project land cruiser. we are in the united states and we really like the 60, 70 and 80 series land cruisers. we have been toying with buying an imported land cruiser but i was wondering what it is like owning an imported land cruiser in the states. i was wondering about locatin parts ( are any of the parts hard to find due to it being imported), having it serviced or repaired up in New Hampshire where i live and so on.

so i am looking for a little information. we love the double cab pick up style 79 series trucks and the 80 series trucks and those are really import only for me.

Hi,

Where are you thinking of importing from? I think, the 60,70 and 80 are all available in the States, infact I know the 60 and 80 are, and they would be in not to bad contition if you could buy one from one of the dry States.

If it's a RHD like here in the UK then the parts, might, be a little harder to find in the US, but nowhere near impossible, and only the parts pertaining to RHD.

Parts are not to bad to find, if they are available, regardless weather the car is an import or not, the 60 will be a little more difficult due to their age, service parts are readily available, I.E oil filters, brake pads, rotors, air filters, etc, etc.

There is a chap on this LCC he is a 'Promoted Company' and goes by the handle of @chapel gate, he specialises in 80 parts and other hard to find parts, new and used, now that I've mentioned him he might chirp up.

Good Hunting. :)

unless you are after a diesel 80, you wont be needing to import one.
avoid the rust belt and you can get one in great condition at a very reasonable price.
