Hi

Just a quick post to say hi.

I drive a 1993 LJ78.

Bought it as a daily driver / project truck, and also to use for 4x4 Response.

Saw it as a viable alternative to anything else that was £2K - ie didnt want a money pit that swallowed up my 'improvement' money!

So far have had a decent service, timing belt and water pump.

Next step is a 2" lift and then slightly larger than standard tyres.

I want to build a truck thats reliable for distance driving followed by some offroad use, but not serious mudplugging, so for me a good full length roof rack is more important than a winch or snorkel.

Cheers

Pete

Sheesh what's with the influx of 70's of late! We need some 150's and 200's....

Oh and welcome Pete, I am sure you will feel welcome here

Hey Pete,

Are you a member of Wesses4x4 response? know most of the members who are a very friendly bunch :D lots of easy offroading down your neck of the woods too.

Whereabouts in Somerset are you?

Thanks for the welcome chaps.

I know a couple of folks here from another forum, and have been lurking for some while.

1993 2.4 LT/E , about 60,000 miles on her.

It is indeed wessex4x4response, although I am a very new member - although if the weather gets much colder I might also be the shortest serving - no heater in the truck at the moment!

Regards all

Pete

Welcome Pete, I remember you from that other place.

I'm a member of Gloucestershire -Worcestershire 4x4 Response, was down with your guys a couple of weekends ago training the controllers on the Dispatch system (Tickets) and know a few of the Wessex guys quite well, good bunch of guys.

Hi Andy

Great to hear that theres another localish response person here - just waiting for Dorset Police to do their bit and I will be up and running, just collecting together some bad weather gear at the moment.

Truck generally runs well, its been poorly looked after previously but I'm getting there - my list is now down to 2" suspension lift, decent AT tyres and a full roof-rack.

Cheers

Pete
