Did you not get the storm on Sunday night Clive? Monday's news here showed trees down, bits fallen from buildings and fairly deep floods from the top left hand corner of Hungary. It was a good effort with a nice drop in temperature to about 25/26c.

No we didn't, but we are in the bottom RH corner (ish) of Romania, so the top left of Hungary is probably a weather system or 2 away.

That looks like it was quite menacing Rich. We do get some corkers sometimes, after a dry spell.

The weather systems here seem more localized than in the UK. We can have a huge storm, and 20 km away nothing.

We also often have lightening storms that go on for hours, but no rain. I suppose someone gets it.

This storm in the middle of June went on for 4 hours or so, but we didn't get a drop. It's a crappy vid, but you get the drift.

It was a bit like that Clive, hung around for a while outside Tapolca with lots of sheet lightning then moved in rapidly, rained pretty hard and was gone in 45mins. Good fun catching the photos though.

Wasn't a bad vid BTW. It never comes out well trying to video a storm. It was quite a big storm right into Slovenia but as you say it would have been a long way away from you really.

Ana's vlog looked charming. She's coming on on the guitar. My niece did a lot of those after asking for a video camera for Christmas one year. They were all crap, just chatter with her friend, until she picked up her guitar and started singing. She's got older and cleared them all off now.

We worry about Ana posting. We don't know what she posts and TBH she's so busy, it's hard to track what's she's posted, for us to verify. Ultimately, shes on trust.

What to do these days? It's as normal as keeping a diary used to be and she's growing up in a very different world to the one I grew up in. I think she's ok, until she screws up with something.

We all have to learn by our mistakes, and I'm sure in a year or too, the current blogs / blogs will be deleted out of adolescent embarrassment.

As for the vid, I couldn't resist.

I took it on the phone and a good couple of hours into the storm. It just didn't let up.

Very little time between flashes, mostly sheet lightning, and occasional fork, but it was a non-stop show.

The rain that prompted this post lasted all of 10 minutes....

And so it goes on....

We want weather like this, . . . . . but miss out Thursday.

Yep, landed at Gatwick, guess what, yes in the rain just to welcome us home. I heard a couple with an American or Canadian accent say 'this wasn't in the brochure' I informed than that if that was the case then the brochure lied! Badly!

Taking tomorrow off, so we've just arrived at our house, for the first time in 2 weeks, everything in the garden dried up and shriveled looking.

I'll get the pump out tomorrow, and give it a watering from the well.
