.. just to find out what it might cost my wife to insure ( she has a provisional license in the UK, intends to have a full one soon... has been driving in various parts of the world for ~ 100k miles over the last 8 years or so ), I made a few calls around to get insurance quotes. Many zero's were involved. Too many zero's.

And this is after she is 'bringing over' her 8 years NCD from abroad. The bit that I find strange is that while insurance companies mostly seem ok to accept international NCD's, they wont consider the fact that she had a proper license all the years - and only focusing on the 'new driver AAAAGGGGGH' bit.

For the more nosy friends, the quotes were all on the other side of £3,000

Elephant accepted my 12 years of south Africa licence and dud nit think of me as a new driver. Would not do anything on NCD though.

Think also depends on which side of the road!! Driving on the left seems less of an issue?
