Wanted: 80 series Dec1992 HDJ80R VX 4.2 ABS front sensors (both sides) - needed urgently for May MoT

I have tried to find new sensors for my LC80 - I think the part nos are:

Front sensors LH 89543-60010
Front sensors RH 89542-60050

but I ordered these from Amayama Trading in Japan, using my VIN, and what they sent me was wrong. I haven't been able to find these anywhere else...

Please Help!!!

The bracketry on those looks like 100 series, and that's what shows up for those part numbers.

Had a look on partsouq and all the available part numbers for ABS sensors I could find were not available any more.
You might have to try and find some working second hand ones.

Are yours both definitely broken?

(Sorry for delay in replying, Jon...)
Yes, we have narrowed the problem with the ABS (which will mean it won't pass an MoT) to the front ABS sensors.
Did I read somewhere that there is a way of testing the sensors to see if they are not working any more?
I have also just been to South Africa, where this vehicle has been used a lot, and have left enquiries there...

...the problem with ones off another vehicle is whether they are also not working or on their way out. Is there any way of making some sort of adaptation using a new sensor that is available?

Unless you're planning on returning the 100 series sensors to Amayama, couldn't they be modified to fit the 80 series or are they a totally different, size and shape etc? An ABS sensor is just a magnetic pickup with a bit of wire and a plug

Sometimes the fault is in the wires to the sensors. What codes are you getting? If you're getting codes for both then it's probably a wiring problem not the sensors.

The sensors are old fashioned passive hall effect devices on an 80. There should be continuity between the two terminals of each sensor which is simple to test. When the wheel is spinning, a small AC voltage is generated at the sensor terminals and ideally you'd plug a small scope in to see the signal trace.

Knowing the codes would help a lot in narrowing things down.

Broke the front drivers side abs wire on mine , simply soldered it back together and it’s been fine ever since .
