Download the complete over-landing packing list here

Also available as Google Docs:

Here is the over-landing packing list and first-aid from Gary Stockton. As he has pointed out, it's a list that includes everything bar the kitchen sink. You really do not have to take it all with you. Use it merely as a [comprehensive] guide to "what to take on an overland trip"

For now, the lists are here for download in a zip file. I hope to put these up as shared Google doc so you can collaborate.

If you have anything to add to the list, do let us know.
Keep replies on-topic on this thread please.
Credit for the list goes to many different people, mainly from The South African Land Cruiser Club.

Re: Overland Packaging list

i was shown this link a while back from a friend.

its a preparation guide for a dakar lada niva, but aside from bits like which body parts to weld up to prevent cracking, it has useful preparation check lists and packing lists which could apply to any car travelling unsupported and over difficult terrain.
