We’re in a state of transition.

Since February we’ve been working from home, that is at our house 110 km north of the city where our offices are. It’s been bliss TBH, Ana’s getting interweb schooling and us 2 have been doing fine in our makeshift office in one of the spare rooms.

We can take a break in the garden when we feel like, life’s been good.

Now, Aura (wife) has to return to her office, since the restrictions have been lifted. She asked if she could stay working from home, but her boss was less than keen. So last week, I told Ana we’ll be moving back to Bucharest so that mum can go back to the office. She had a moody, cos she’s enjoying life up here, and I’m not keen either.

So we came to a compromise, Aura returned to Bucharest on Sunday night, and we went on Monday evening. We had 2 days in Bucharest and came back to the house tonight. 2 days Bucharest, and 3 days plus the weekend at the house.

Anyway, to get more out of Tuesday evening, we took a ride on our bikes to Herestrau Park. It was always our favourite Summer evening run out. A circuit of the lake and some nosh at a lakeside restaurant on the return leg.

We’ll, the parks have only just opened after the lockdown, so we didn’t know what to expect. It’s often a bit busy usually if the weather is good, but we were expecting it to be quiet, post lockdown.

Not at all! It was great to see everyone enjoying a walk, Bike-ride, rollers, skateboards, you name it, they were there. Even a host of canoeists, and some sailing dinghies on the water....

The restaurant was open albeit with some extra distance between the tables, which was no bad thing. I even had some lamb chops served on a block of salt-rock... that’s a first for me it was delicious.

@Chas might remember the place, we took him there when he stayed over for a week to have some truck repairs, after one of his club visits to the house.

A few photos of the event to finish off... Park life returns to Bucharest...

Oh yes Clive I remember it well, I think we went there a couple of times. Lovely pictures.

Nice photos, brings back memory’s of a 3 day work trip I had their to visit some oil&zags company’s.
Our hotel was in walking distance of park and lake so we had an evening walk and went to one of those restaurant with terraces on lake. And looked around a museum with buildings bought in from around Romania I think they said
Here are a couple of my photos

I was a great park and lucky it was so close to hotel

Thats the one Andy, the houses, mills and barns are part of the heritage museum.
They’ve spent some money these last few years tidying up the park generally, with refurbished pathways and suchlike. They also dredged a lot of the mud out of the lake.
It‘s teeming with carp, if anyone likes fishing
