My power steering pump leak has finally , after 4 + years, reached the top of the to do list.

A new one is £500, so i'm not keen on that. A gasket kit (04446-60050) is only £15. Has anyone go experience of removing and/or rebuilding this pump?

Would I need anything else from this list if i did do a rebuild?

Mine is leaking and I got the service kit from Amayama.

There is a thread here that might help.

Also this is the kit I got ImageUploadedByTapatalk1425579933.431615.jpg

By all accounts this sorts leaks and gives all that is needed to refurb the pump unless anything is worn badly.

Looks like it contains three large o rings, 2 small, 2 copper washers, one monster internal circlip, 1 small snap ring, and a shaft seal. The only thing I can think would be necessary on top of this might be a shaft if its badly grooved where the seal sits. Probably one of those to look at and assess first and bite the bullet with a spare from Toyota if needed quickly.

I thought my PS pump was leaking but when I looked carefully I realised it was engine oil coming from round the side of the pump so all I had to do was seal the pump to the engine. Saved me taking the pump apart.

starcruiser, i'll order one of those. From what i can tell 04446-60070 is compatible with a 1HZ.

Frank, good point. i've been topping up the fluid for some time now, so pretty sure its the pump (if not somewhere in the powered steering circuit)

Scott, - Thank you! step by step instructions are just what i need!
