So whilst searching for something completely different in ebay, I can across someone selling a tuning box called RaceChip Pro. Seemed reasonable, so I found the actual sellers website, and after a few exchanges of emails, I purchased said unit (middle one in link below) for €229 :

Arrived very quickly from Germany with fitting instructions, but was easy enough to do:

They also emailed me some pics of my supposed engine, however these were not correct. Oh well thinks I, I should be able to do this... So out come the spanners, off comes the intercooler, and I start looking for the plug to the common rail.... Nope can't find it under the intercooler area... So I look around, and lo and behold it's down to the right hand side of the engine:

Easy to install, unplug said connector, plug in the harness, then plug original plug into harness... job done:

Tidy it all up:

Job done!
The unit has two selector switches inside which you can move to select a different performance profile, which is nice, although a bit of a faff as you need to open the unit up to do so.
So what do I think.... well you can defo feel the difference, and Crispin and myslef did some quick tests using a app on the phone to get some 0-60 figures, and on average it's come down from 16.4 to 13.4 seconds. Interesting enough Crispin's 150 in the same stretch of road does this in 10.4 seconds.
What's nice about this unit, is that they give you a bypass plug so that you can remove the box and the LC is back to standard
Must say they were/are a very good company to deal with, quite responsive to emails! Only thing is they would not offer any discount for multiple buys....
Very chuffed with that indeed.
