Hi Guys
I have had a look at the rear pillar and there are three skins of metal, the
outside one an inner one and then a third one just behind the panelling so
maybe it might do for the carrier, Im guessing as usual. I took out the rear
speaker to have a look and there was a box attached to the bottom of the
speaker bracket with wires going in. The model No is 86280-60010 I was just
wondering what it is for, after all I dont want to take it out and then
dicover that its important.
Thanks

The only 80 series cruisers that have the support are those that have the carrier fitted from new.Same with 4Runner/Surf.I have a complete carrier assembly and the reinforcing plates which i removed from an import cruiser.
The plates could be fabricated after but they are shaped and lipped.I was intending to fix them in location using automotive body sealant.
As I will be selling my 80 shortly these and some other parts are for sale- open to offers...

Hi Guys
Would you believe that I still cant find out for sure if the rear pillar of
the cruiser is capable of holding the rear wheel carrier. I have tried but
failed but yet I know some one has the answer out there. I can sent the
photos to one of you if you like but not to the list as I still have not
mastered the Tiny Url thing, simply because if you dont use it you forget it
RIGHT, well thats my story and im sticking to it.

John,
Email me any photos of the carrier that you might have. Just attach
them to a direct email.
Being a UK spec vehicle, it will require supporting brackets for the
wheel carrier - as already reported on the list Jap spec vehicles with
carriers have additional support brackets added to the pillars.
You need to see if your kit comes with support brackets, if not it
would be advisable to get some made up.
