repair or replace 5 speed manual

Hi im after some info on repairing or replacing 5 speed manual, symptoms are,,throws out of 1st gear and wont select 3rd or 4th gears..i have replaced Oil

I'd imagine that either rebuilding or replacing will be a good A$ four figure bill. If it was me I'd try and find a 100 series manual box with the revised 2nd gear synchro to enable better 3rd to second downchanges and try and get some warranty with it.
