Replacement keyfob battery

Well.... The battery seems to be okay, I took it off the 80 and charged it up overnight and through the day.
But the LC wouldn't start still with the immobiliser issue.

Now I push the black button on the fob but where as previously it went out after 10 seconds it now never goes out, what does that mean?

I have found a way of starting it, probably not doing the car any good but..

D/C Battery
Turn key to the start position and hold
Connect the battery and it fires into life.

Turn off the LC and it will not start again.
I used this method to take it to an auto electrician and left it there with him, he's a bit of an expert with older cars so I'm hoping he will be able to sort it for me as the MOT has expired (I drove it there on trade plates).

I will update the thread with his findings incase anyone has this issue in future, hopefully it will be helpful.
It was nice to drive the mighty 80 again though!

WIN

My auto-electrician expert managed to bypass the immobiliser and now she starts again nice and easily with no pesky immobilser to worry about!

Now, time to book an MOT for next week I think!
