Hello all,

Well I have wanted to do a short travel through Vietnam, so plans are in place.
We got the visas back, a few days ago.
Then yesterday we got our train tickets.
Weifang to Nanning

Train travel from Weifang to Nanning is 45 hours.
Not bad for just £75.00 and 2500km.
Soft sleeper is very comfortable

On arriving in Nanning, we will overnight in a hotel, ready to take bus from Nanning to Ha Noi.
We have flexible plans there after.
A day or two in Ha Noi, then fly to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), is just a 2 hour flight.
Then 2 days in HCMC, Mekong delta stuff, and take bus / scooter / train / back up north to Ha Long Bay,
Stopping in Nha Trang, Hue, Hoi An, and Da Nang
crossing over Hai Van pass.

I am not sure how long it will all take, but thats not really imortant.
Train back from Nanning to Weifang will be 12th Feb.

Depending on the class of carriage you get, don't leave anything on the fold-up tables by the windows on Vietnamese trains. There's a way to open them from the outside, swipe everything from the table, and be gone in a matter of seconds.

I'm looking forward to a full report with pictures as per usual - have a good time
