High to all.
I have a 2009 land cruiser gxl 76 series. New tyres fitted to front and put two of the best of the old set on back. The old ones have 6 mil of tread depth. Should I have put new ones on the back as well. It is handling like I have a broken centre bolt, the back keeps breaking away when cornering. The thing is the old tyres are good. I will be interested in the feed back. Cheers Rod

Slow down a bit until the new shine has rubbed off .

Time to replace the old tyres. Rubber hardens as it ages, especially in hot climates.

Not always intuitive but "New tyres on the back" - that's what most, if not all, tyre manufacturers advise for that exact reason; lower grip at the rear causes oversteer, which is much harder to control for the average driver. Whereas lower grip at the front causes understeer, which can be countered in most cases, simply by lifting off the throttle.

I always thought best tyres at the front; because the fronts do the bulk of the work of steering and braking but the above does make sense.
