Hi Guys
I was just wondering if any of you have a Walbro pusher pump installed and

John, for further info on the benefits, see the Birfield archives and do a search there. Just enter Birfield archive in Google and you are there.
There are no suppliers in the UK.
I imported mine from the states - Mr Ron Gregory who runs APE - see link below -
http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/ SEE MODEL 8036 ?
is a very helpful man. Delivery was within 2 weeks.
Sadly I have not got round to fitting it !!!
Walbro are the best, don't be tempted by things like Pacet etc.
Regards Gareth.

Thanks Gareth, what was the cost of it.

John, I am sorry but I cannot remember. Also, prices, exchange rates and shipping charges all vary. All prices are shown in $ on his site. To the best of my knowledge shipping charges were very reasonable. He also puts a very low value on the invoice in with the goods hence - no import duty had to be paid. I also bought some in tank filters and a dual pick up pipe and some screw in connectors to put the feed and return fuel lines on.
Regards Gareth.

Hey Gareth
Did you plan to replace your ome pump or use it as a pusher pump to help the
ome pump. I saw some where that it works well to use it aswell as the
original pump and fixing it, er I cant remember sorry.

John , use as a supplement to the OE pump. The walbro is a low pressure pump, 10 psi at the pump outlet which translates to approx 7psi downstream of the OE fuel filter. This is sufficient to slightly alter the pump timing, which is the main benefit of the pump, but not enough to cause any problems such as leakage.
Have a look at the archives and look for posts by Craig Vincent from New Zealand, he is very much up on this area and his posts explain the benefits far better than my very simplistic attempt.
Gareth.

Gareth,
AFAIK Pacet do not make any diesel pumps, only for petrol.
I have a Pierburg pump which looks and performs very much like Walbro.
It seems the Walbro brand doesn't exist in Europe any more with the
only player in the market being Kolbenschmidt Pierburg AG.
I've had it (installed) for two years and can't complain, expcept for
a slight problem with matching the diameter of the output port to the
LC fuel line.

Hi Guys
I was in touch with the guy from this place yesterday and he replied that he
has no pump to fit the HDJ 80 and even to see if he could do anything he
would need flow rate of the fuel system and psi of the system. Geese thats
me out of equation I think, maybe if he had asked me what colour the cruiser
was I could deal with that. Any ideas on this guys.

Hi John,
I guess that he was working on the premise that he supplies replacement pumps
and doesn't know anything about. What you are after is an additional pump
which he is unlikely to know about.
Just get back to him and ask him about the 6065 pump.
