Hi all.

Have been trying to find answers to my problem on more or less every forum out there including this one regarding my faulty water temp gauge.

The car is a 2002 1HZ swapped for a LC80 1HD-T and the temp gauge is dead.

Previous owner said there might be something wrong with the resistance from the sensor to the gauge but I would personally find that strange since the car originally also had this engine in some specs.

I have not had it checked with a OBD scanner as I got the car two days ago and the weather has been dreadful since.

Does anyone have any idea of where to start, myself thinking faulty sensor.

I have read numerous threads here and on other forums arguing on where the sensor is situated and I have come to the conclusion it's right under the oil filter. Is this correct?

Looking forward to hear your ideas as to where to start.

Thanks!

Just to update, the fault was the sensor. Got a new one for the 105 and it works a charm!

Slowly rebuilding everything that has been worn on the vehicle and just got it back from repaint. Will try to create a thread with updates but I always forget to take pictures.

Cheers!
