Hy All,
I seem to think I've read somwhere about water ingress from the sunroof.
I can't remember where, but it must have been on one list or other and as I
know many of you are on other forums, I might as well ask the question on
here.
The truck is a 1997 1HD FT with factory fitted sunroof. I've looked, but
for the life of me I can't see any evidence of water entering at this point.
I don't suspect a leak on the heater system, as the the carpet only seems
to get wet after heavy rain, or washing.
It's hard to be sure, but it seems to be worse in the area of the door
pillar on the passenger side (again indicating the sunroof).
Door seals on the passenger side are good except for slight damage at the
top of the front passenger door probably caused by careless fitting /
removal of a roof rack by a previous owner.
I've tried the obvious, get in and look whilst the wife sprays water on the
car from a pressure wash, and I have seen the odd drop of warer when the
hose is passed over this area of the door seal but nowhere near enough to
account for the amount on / under the carpet.
Ideas anyone ? I'm sure some of you will have had similar experiences.
What's the remedy ?
