Whats this???

Connects the positive terminal to a black box. Is it a fusible link? And if it is, any ideas what size? I'd like to take a replacement travelling if it is something that could blow.

Looks like the "black box" is the fuseable link and the short cable is just that a short connector ?

@uHu its Feb 2003, right on the changeover, but on the new side of the change over (I believe). Very useful diagrams so thank-you for those. I took the cover off the black box and found this:

So I think @Grimbo is right and that it is just a short connector.

Looks like I should probably buy a new fusible link though. The truck spent its first 7 years in Africa, and looks like it was subjected to some good ol' bush mechanics.
