Wiring to front doors

OK ,so time for another of my daft questions that pertains to my
unique military spec 80.
As you all know, they don't put any electric gismos whatsoever in the
80 for the military, so this means no electrics in the doors. I now
want to put some speakers in the front doors and have come across a
slight problem. (I am at last replacing the radio that was ripped out
one night as the Iraq war started, when all foreign cars were trashed
by the locals).
The leading edge of the door has a plastic plug in an approx 35mm
hole punched in it just above the bottom hinge. I assume that this
would otherwise be the grommeted entry for the more normal wiring
loom to the central locking, window switches etc.
I was pleased when I found that, and assumed that it would be easy to
wire the speakers into the door. BUT - there is no corresponding
plugged hole in the 'A' pillar that I could use to get the cable out
of the cabin and into the door. There is a gap between the wing and
pillar through which cables could be passed and go through a grommet
where the wing mounted antenna cable enters the cabin.
So where is the corresponding cabin entry on a more normal 80 of
early nineties vintage please? It is quite possible that I have
missed it, unless they just don't punch it out especially for the
military spec to help it with wading leaks. Or maybe the cable entry
is much higher in the door, I just don't know. TIA
Cheers

Jon,
The bodywork cable entry is at the same height as the hole in the
door. You can always drill a hole working from inside the footwell.

Thanks Roman, so you are confirming my suspicion that they omit the
'A' pillar hole from my spec of 80. I am not too keen at drilling
holes in pillars if it can be avoided. But if that is the only way
then I will have a closer look with the kick panels removed. Any
ideas for a pukka flexible conduit complete with moulded-on grommets
without going to Toy for them ?
Other ideas welcome.

Yes, I can cobble something up, but I am assuming that Toy use
something special on the 80 to help keep it wade proof. Problem is
that I don't know anyone with an 80 with electrics in the doors to
see just what is used.

Have a look at -
http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/VWPweb2000/sleeving/sleeving.html
This page shows cable sleeving and spiral wrap. At the bottom of the page are some sleeved grommets which may if used in conjunction with the sleeving and some waterproof grease keep all the water out.
Will we be seeing you at Salisbury ?
SNIP..
Thanks Gareth I have a stock of grommets and always some spiral wrap
to hand. Its just something like the sleeved grommets that are a
little more rare. But again, as above, I don't know what the OEM
conduit looks like to use as an example. But your suggestion looks a
good option thanks. And is the hole on the pillar on the inside edge
or the outside by the way? (I just haven't seen one).
As for Salisbury, no sorry I don't think I will be there. Once before
on one of my UK home trips I had a day out there with the Pajero
club. But frankly I have done so much cross country driving as part
of my everyday work that I am not inspired by mud wallowing. As you
know, I am a mountain man ! If it were possible I would still come
along to the pub for a pint with you all after you have satisfied
your lust for mud ;-)
Anyway, green laning would appeal if that was arranged, even Wales
later in the year; but I would want to do it by B&B, never liked tents!
