Today I was getting on with putting my PM parts on, moving the power steering resovoir out of the way of cam belt change, I unclipped the gravity feed pipe. Where the clip holds the pipe is a bend, once released I could see the pipe was cracking and damp.

Keeping in mind the pipe moves with the engine but is fixed to the chassis member, I think the pipe is just a little tight/short here? Over the years the movement which may or may not have been caused by my weak engine mounts has slowly fractured the pipe, it is right behind the clip that holds it in place.

Given it is a gravity feed, it does have the ability to empty the resovoir pretty quickly, even if the engine is off. If anyone is not sure of the location let me know, I can soon snap a pic.

Ah sure mine runs the out other end anyway.

p.s don't try to refil the reservoir with the engine running. The fan blows it away before it even goes in!
