You will struggle to buy a new 80 the last ones were built in Venezuela. You can find old ones in great condition but you will pay lots of money for them.

The last Venezuelan 80"s were built in 2008. A 'version' of the 80 series was also produced in China up to 2006. http://carfacts2013.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/land-cruiser-made-in-china.html Apparently Toyota sold the patterns for the body shell but wouldn't let the Chinese Co. use the drivetrain so they had different engines/transmissions.
If Toyota decided to do a production run of new 80's to the same spec with no electronics etc I wonder how much they'd sell for? Just a thought.
I don't suppose they would be able to get below the emissions laws without at least having electronic engine management. I dare say there would be a huge market for them, especially if they updated the interior a bit.
