Map Tracking

looking at that one it's done in google maps or google earth. you can add "stops" in google maps to set the route you want, you can also drag the route to use a specific point too (I use this to avoid Paris a lot and go through Reims as google seems to love taking you through Paris).

Right click on the start and select "directions from here"
Right click on the end and select "Directions to here"
Drag the route as you want it.
If you want a stop, you can click add destinations in the route planner and find them as you would anywhere else in google maps, or right click somewhere and "add destination" then drag them to the correct order.

If you installed Google Earth, you can do the same thing but not limited to known roads. You can then export it as a gpx file which can (should be able to) be loaded into your GPSr either as a route or as waypoints to navigate towards.
Using Google Earth, you'll be able to see a lot of the roads on the satellite view. (See where Kevin currently is)
