Its been a great vehicle on road, in snow, on greenlanes and trans-European trips

New Toyota Rear differential lock actuator fitted in 2012

No service history book when purchased in 2009 / 74,000 miles.
But I have some service receipts from previous owner
I have serviced it since 74k miles in 2009 according to the schedule, oil and Toyota oil filter change every 6 months or 4500miles whichever sooner.
I have kept my own service record book since 2009 and have kept receipts for service items and spare parts.
Air and Fuel filter replaced each year.
Coolant, Transmission Fluid, Front and Rear differential oil and transfer box oil replaced regularly as specified in service schedule.

Chassis and underbody treated with dinitrol in 2012 (most of orange stuff you can see in photos on chassis is sand/dust from Morocco)

Radiator replaced in 2009
Air-conditioning works well – new Toyota condenser (radiator) fitted summer 2012 by a specialist and system recharged and tested.

Vehicle given pre-MOT style inspection by Alexander Wallace Toyota in Elgin in August 2013, including them replacing some parts (exhaust gasket and clamp, both front lower control arm ball-joints, anti-roll bar bushes, rear brake slider pins and rubber boots)

Body work got scratches from bushes
Interior trim has some holes where I had switches and wiring which have since been removed.
Scuffs on interior boot trim from luggage and a crack in plastic
Occasional slight clunk noise from back of vehicle when going over potholes, due to boot door knocking on a stop since the rear door hinge being worn, I replaced the lower one with a bolt and that helped reduce it a lot.
O/S rear of sill has some bubbling paint (see photo)
chassis repaired with 2 welded plates by a garage in 2011 - at rear, near lower control arm mounts
slight weep of oil at join between gearbox and transfer box.

90 is the swb variant, 95 is the lwb variant.

In reality, difference isnt very much, maybe 5 or 6 inches?

These must be one of the best value LC's now, especially as the 70 series isnt a lot cheaper, and a 3.0 Kzj7* may even be as much.

May i suggest the term modified 4x4 added to your title on ebay and you will get far more people looking , to be honest i never even looked at Landcruisers while passing the time searching for a 4x4 that suited me , not sure why but i can honestly say i had never seen a 90 before in my life until maybe 2 weeks before i bought mine ?

I am in the hunt for a 100 series - just started, and it is a bit tedious constantly searching the web and finding that all ( or should I say, nearly all), the decent ones are either gone, or not as described. I have driven lots of 80's and have decided that for what I want, they are a bit heavy and agricultural in feel - not driven one for a few years, except an older spec model. So what are these 95's like to drive? Are they sluggish or a bit more spritely than an 80? Wondering if this could be a good stop gap vehicle, whilst searching for a 100.

I haven't driven an 80-series so not sure how they compare to drive with a 95.
I guess fully loaded an 80 will have more pulling power than the 95, due to the great torque of the 4.2

maybe someone who has driven both can comment ?

We have an 80, a 95 & a 100 Chris. All excellent & quite different... Got in the Collie (wif's truck) a couple of weeks back & it felt like a go cart compared to my hundy :-D Both the 80 & 100 are heavily modified though on 35's so not a true comparison.

I rate the Collie very highly as our intro to land cruisers. The V8 is in another league though ;-)

I have both and didn't drive the 95 for a few months as its my wife's car. I was so shocked at how much better it drove then my 80 did have to think if I had done the right thing in buying that I have to say. It does pick up and go a lot better then my 12v 80. also a better drive handle motorways at a higher speed as well we went on a 125 mile trip on the motorway and did it in 1.5 hours in the rain. silly but it didn't fell dangerous at all. I have taken the 95 round France in the winter with 4 adults and lots of gear and it handled fine. I keep thinking of getting rid of the 95 and getting something better on diesel but what do you buy that will be a reliable? it might not be good on fuel but it always starts and apart from servicing I have done a calliper on it.

Although in reality it's probably no quicker, my 95 feels more spritely at lower speed and around town - not surprising as it's smaller, 500kg lighter and has shorter gearing. It tends to feel a bit forced on the motorway though, where the 100 is relaxed and able to go much quicker without feeling strained.
