Hi guys,

A few weeks ago we had the annual meeting of a Land Cruiser group here (it is the third year they have made it). Every year we do it in a different Island (I am from the Canary Island). This year was made in Tenerife. I am going to upload a few pics of the meeting as well as the facebook page of the group.

Thank you!

Love the 40 with the 1hdte

Looks like a thriving event, how far away did people come from?
Glad to see some older trucks in good condition, mind you they are all getting on a bit now!

What a lovely bunch of old cruisers there, fantastic!

Great photos..!

That looks fantastic. Love the 40 series tipper body trucks.
I was in lanzerote a couple of years ago and saw a lot of very tidy 60's.
keep us posted on when the next meet is. Could well turn out to be an international "club" holiday meet

You know what?? that sounds like a right idea

a bulk booking on a ferry..
The cheapest 1 car & driver price Spain to the Canary Isles is is E450 each way and in the warmer months is considerably more.
Some beautiful trucks out there.
Super photos.

Hi guys,

Thanks a lot for the comments!

It is the third year that the event takes place (The event is just a baby). It is about just a few crazy people for the Land Cruisers, as you are ;) .

Since now all the participants of the event are form the Canary Islands, from the seven islands ( Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, Hierro) that is why every year the event took place in a different islands. This year was in Tenerife.

It is true that we are far away to come in a ferry and the tickets are a little expensive. Moreover, it is 38 hours from Spain (Huelva) to the Canary Islands.

As it is a meeting of friends here, the event is programmed 5-6 months before it takes place. That is the reason why I cannot tell you in which Island or in what date the event will take place. However, as soon as I know I will post it here.

Concerning the classics, more likely the 40 serie, it is like a treasure that we have in these islands. Nevertheless, there are a lot of people looking for them to sell it in other part of the world. We have to Americans that have token not less that 15 of them. Most of them are hj45 pick-up :rage::rage::rage:.

I am rebuilding a hj45. Here I post a picture of it. As soon as I finish with it I will post more pictures.

Hello - my first post! We're based in the UK but have a home on Gran Canaria (where we are visiting at the moment). Looking to buy a vehicle and trying to arrange a test drive of a new Cruiser but proving hard! Meanwhile, came across this group and the LandCruiser Canarias... Maybe a classic Cruiser is the solution (although I'm a novice as regards knowledge of old models) and also I do NOT do my own vehicle maintenance... Can anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers, Matthew

Hi clivehorridge,

Ha! call that rust :laughing-rolling: That could be a two-year old car in Scotland.

I have a constant battle to stop bits falling off my 100 :icon-rolleyes:.

I would love a climate like yours.

Bob.
