According to Wikipedia, he was a Roman soldier of Greek origin, it doesn't matter anyway, he is our Patron Saint, how many of us are truly ENGLISH? Any people born in this country are British but not neccesarily English.

St David was born in Wales (probably) and we still celebrate him, without a BANK HOLIDAY. I don't think any of the dates are their birthdays though.
