Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem..Im sure it worked ok when i got the Truck, But after sitting on the ramp for 8 months or more its now solid.. I remember a post yonks ago from someone with the same problem, But not even sure if it was an 80... The engine isnt a runner, So was thinking would i have more chance with the engine running and trying to free it of by yocking in and out of gear so to speak... Its the Auto so i guess it has to be in Neutral to engage Hi/Lo anyway.... Any Ideas...Luckily its stuck in Hi..

More often than not, it's nothing to do with the gears in the transfer box. The lever that you get hold of is connected to the box via a rod. If it's not moving at all then the problem has to be with the pivot pin for the lever under the leather gaiter or else you'd get some rocking in the rod linkage. It's dead easy to fix from inside the car. Take the cover tray off and attack it with some penetrating spray.

Cheers Chris.... Thats tomorrows Job Sorted.

I had a similar problem with my hi/low stick. In fact it was the first problem @Chris ever solved for me after a chance meeting in Tesco car park.

I think I solved it by moving the car back and forward slightly in Hi 4, then giving the stick an almighty yank. I had to do it a few times, and it really needed the biggest of yanks, but it went in the end.

I've had to free a few of these up for folk.
I've had to replace the housing that Chris mentioned, due to the casting being cracked after one owner got all excited with a big hammer..

Here's the linkages that your dealing with. Plenty of spray and some patience.

Jeez, they're pretty rough. Never seen one quite that bad before.

You wouldn't think it looking at it, but it's actually the smoothest h151f I've ever come across.
