Hello guys.
I have been meaning to get my tappets reset as a bit loud.
I have just bought a vernier gauge to get my tappets to there correct settings.
I am not sure what the settings should be set to for correct setting.

I have the 3.0td lc5 1kdftv engine.
Just need some data for my reset to factory set up.
I have owned the car for over 2 yrs now and its not a big deal but been told its not a big job..
Has anybody got this engine and have reset there tappets and what settings they use.
All data will be much appreciated or point me in the right direction to find the information i need.

Intake 0.20−0.30 mm (0.0079−0.0118 in.)
Exhaust 0.35−0.45 mm (0.0138−0.0177 in.)

How many miles on the engine? When were the injectors last done? It's not difficult but it's way easier if you are doing the injectors anyway. The faff is working out what size shims you need and waiting to order and receive them.
 
Not sure on injections being changed but the timing belt was changed at 187000.
My engine has done 212000 now but still drives smooth.
I done the egr clean over a year ago now and was pretty clean.
I assume it has been looked after as everything works and even underneath looks tidyish.
 
I think worn injectors in this engine sound like worn tappets, but could be my unrefined ear. Easy to check with Techstream. About 40 quid for a cable and software these days. Few posts around on this forum about using it. Well worth having just to read engine codes when you start to get those miles on it.

If you mean the bottom of the sump it looked ok as no debris just oil..
My car pick up is as it should be i think as been like that for over 2 years now so i dont no any different.
