Who should be paid more a doctor or a mechanic

Just can't the sse point of the question. Who should be paid more, the pilot or the person who packs the parachutes. But then I am just grumpy and don't understand anymore why people post non Cruiser related s***t on here. Dying as I currently am, doctors can't do anything for me and I've sold...

Well chaps the time is drawing near and I need to make yet more space in the workshop. I've too much stuff to list and in fact I've sold a huge amount already but I thought I'd tempt you with some goodies. Now, this is not an open thread for you to start bidding and filling your boots. I simply...

    Front suspension sagging?

Very common on the Hilux which is essentialy the same front end. Broken front springs very common indeed. Speed bumps. Avoid peddars if you don't want any lift on std height. Regardless of whatever they tell you. Go on ask me how I know.

    Colorado lift kit

Body lift or suspension lift? For body lift just buy new. No point messing. For suspension, I'd do the same. Why fit old stuff?

    Plastics repair

Unfortunately, I might have already given that away to someone. There's so much stuff I can't keep track of it all. I do have the axe for you though, that's for sure.

Better than that, I have one that you can have. Not going to need it where I'm going. Comes with 1000 extra staples

    Engine Oil Type

No it wouldn't. Changing the oil on time is more important than selecting the oil.Now I'm not saying use something sold out of a caravn in a layby at midnight.... but just your general regular oil is perfectly fine. Read the specs in the handbook. 13,000 miles must be some sort of record. I've...

    Engine Oil Type

10W 40. Don't agonise over it. It's a truck engine probably with a lot of miles on it if it's aything like mine and most on here. Anything made from Unicorn tears is a complete waste of time. Built in the 90's to run on oil made in the 90's basically

    Homemade blackout blinds!!

There is a chance that you'll run into errors in the ECU if you do that BB. I suspect if the inlet temsps are too high it will shut down. These things produce a billion BTUs on a thimble of derv in any case. Better econonomy is not something that's really needed.I too built one into a Peli case...

    Timing belt light coming on

If it's like other Cruisers, there's effectively a tab on the odometer 'cog' that trips the light. To reset some, you take a screw out of one hole and putit back into another. It's very basic and not connected to the real world at all. As long as you know you changed it, then you'll be fine.

    head removal

Well I hate to say it's as easy as drain the coolant, unbolt everything like manifolds then the head bolts and lift it off, so someone may correct me, but there's not much more to it than that. Is there somethig in particulart that you're struggling with? They're bloody heavy so don't expect it...

Funny how life throws you those little curve balls isn’t it? Ho hum.

Well I probably weigh more than either of the bikes Steve ha ha. Besides which they're the same weight actually but the Tigga needs a service and new tyres so the Beemer is probably going to be the winner this time around.

    Tips for a new owner

Diff leak quite common on ones that age. The casing seems to go porous. As for the handbrake, there is a section in the 80 forum called 'stickies' in there you'll find a post about handbrakes. It's the same as the 80 basically. They're not difficult to set up correctly but it has to be done...

Thank you Gav. That's very kind of you. I know it can be difficult to say the right things at times, which is why we make it as light hearted as we can. Again, just repoomding to the latest post folks, it's heartening to know I've not be a complete twat all my life then. I'd so much rather let stuff go out into thos community for good prives than try to get every last penny from someone I don't know. The thought of kit being used for its...

Well if you've read this thread and been keeping up, you'll know I mentioned a garage sale. Well, I must've jinxed it. 80 Series Kill Switch

Yes it would Martin. Correct but if they're going to do that then you've no chance. You could take the wheels off and they'd bring a Chinook.

    80 Series Kill Switch

Also, put your transfer box in neutral. Trust me, when you get back to you own car and you've flicked the cut off switch, you'll still be sitting there 5 mins later shouting 'Why won't you drive?' Anyt hing you can do to slow these people down is worth it.

    Inaccurate Speedometer

Contact Mark's 4x4 in Australia as they do speedo adjustment units. Simple plug and play on mine (80 series) you can adjust the speedo as you drive and set it at whatever you like. Once adjusted, you just forget about it.

    Classified or Wanted?

Higgy, we did have a map thing at one point but on looking I can't find it myself. Typically the flag in the sidebar tends to give it away, but that's not always correct. It's supposed to be the country in which you live; not your nationality. But some people will post the flag of Uzbekybjan -...

    Classified or Wanted?

I'd suggest that for something that you want, the wanted section is the correct place. The fact that some people don't understand where to post things such as intros in the intro section, 70 stuff in the 70 section etc is just indicative of the ability of some members! And why mods are generally...

It is actually the subject of a sticky iirc for everyone to read. Some may have noticed the 'edited by a moderator' at the side of each post! But hey, no matter. There are people on the forum who've been around long enough to know really, but let's get back to the thread eh? Far more important...
