    Some Good Guys Out There!

Spoke to them both for a good while. I was cooing over that 1HZ! What a beauty - I was hoping my lad would buy it but he cant afford the insurance (19yrs old). It was Raptored - worst thing I ever did and will never do it again. I figured that as there was only half of the car left now that I...

    Some Good Guys Out There!

Absolutely Lorin, the guys at Blackbird really are top of their game. They also race their own motors in the Ultra4/King of/Dirt classes - they know what axle punishment is. What really impressed me is the use of 3d scanning to just get it right first time. I think I might do a build thread...

    Some Good Guys Out There!

Its my old fill bodied 1hdt. Owned for about 12 years or so. Always been an off roader but kept on the road. Years of being trialed and play days had taken its toll on the body so I truck cabbed it last year with a roll cage fitted.

Does anybody recognise this type of towbar?

I thought similar, but cant seem to make it fit - the 'captive plates' collide with that and it steps the main side plate out too much.

Does anybody recognise this type of towbar?

A couple of years ago I bought a towbar from somebody on facebook - all good. Finally came around to fitting it a year later and cannot for life of me work out where 2 of the supplied brackets go. The main side plates are easy enough (just insert a plate with captive nuts and bolt on) - its...

    Some Good Guys Out There!

Its on my off roader - Im running 38.5" treps these days (measure more like ø39") and its taken the front axle to its limits, last event the front diff just 'popped' a tooth so easily in reverse up a hill (a high pinion puts load on the coast side of the teeth when in reverse) - its the 3rd diff...

    Some Good Guys Out There!

Recently I needed to borrow a front Axle case and a Radius arm for some 3d scanning / front axle mods. Karl Webster, without hesitation not only came good, he even arranged to meet a third party for collection! Top man. Thanks Karl.

    Krown U.K. Rustproofing

Another vote for Robs attention to detail - had my freshly imported HDJ81 done yesterday with no complaints at all (apparently one of the best conditioned imports he has ever seen ). Efficient and courteous service with the coffee and snacks still available within the waiting room. Rob...

    4.2Td Wanted - 12v or 24v

Are there any 12v or 24v 4.2td complete engines out there? All ancilliaries etc, maybe even the box as well. Ive had a price which made me wince, I might get lucky on here?

    Crypto Overlanding

Hi Shayne, On one point you are correct, you cant lose more than you stake (but if you are actually mining then you can use more electricity than you earn through the coins minded though). I'm going to generalise, but things are not infinite and many of the new systems are "deflationary" where...

    Crypto Overlanding

There are some valid points made in this post. I am fortunate that a good friend is obsessed with Crypto and has been for a few years now. Invest without doing your homework and you might as well throw your money down the drain, if you fancy a dabble, treat it like its money you can afford to...

    Speedo Drive Leaking

Asking for a friend (honest!) - anybody had a problem with the speedo drive leaking oil? O-ring renewed and started to leak again soon after. The level bung is out because it was being topped up

New (to me) LC80 - A rolling project - first question!

The only image I can find is one in mid-prep before rubbing down and smoothing the epoxy paint (shame it was white!) - took about 8 yrs to become a nice shade of grey.... Its coming back to me now - the axle was off because I tore the radius arm brackets, so I remounted them a little for some...

New (to me) LC80 - A rolling project - first question!

I used some surplus industrial paint from work - I dont think it was anything special - just a 2 pack epoxy resin paint (e.g. garage floor type stuff). All I did was degrease the balls, rough them up with course sandpaper / dremmel and then painted - still good now :-)

80 Series Front Bench Seat for RHD - Part Number / Any for Sale?

Cheers Felix - turns out they are 10 a penny (well about $50 aussie) on Gumtree - a friend of mine is shipping me one over (just waiting on collection, some strict lockdown over there still)

80 Series Front Bench Seat for RHD - Part Number / Any for Sale?

Does anybody know of a front bench seat (with seatbelts) for a RHD 80 series / Or even just the part number? As rare as hens teeth over here I believe but a few around in Aus and Africa apparently?

    Project LC80

They look well, I must do the same, I am one bonnet opening from not getting in again on my blue one. You might find its a subtle blend of many components just showing their age a little, whilst the 4.2td is no rocket ship, it should be able to hold its own a fair way. I cant quite make out if...

New (to me) LC80 - A rolling project - first question!

A bit of a win with the centre diff lock mod today - I took a chance on e-bay and ordered the centre diff lock out of a RAV4 SXA1 that was being broken - £15 all in. It was listed with the number off the moulding on the case - 157438 and not the proper part number (not sure what the moulded...

Completely agree, I would like to think that many 'new' owners will have a some period of maintenance and making good before the love dies.

New (to me) LC80 - A rolling project - first question!

Cheers Karl. Its far from the worst out there and a good base to work up from. The biggest negative beside what was mentioned in the first post is that there was a "patch" repair to the nearside rear sill, whilst its MOT ok, I think I will cut it out and make it neater in time. Assuming I...

New (to me) LC80 - A rolling project - first question!

To allow me to lay up my 4.2 TD80 for a while, I picked up a 4.5L 24v petrol LC80 last week (189,000 miles - Jan 97 Reg) - generally it is in acceptable condition for its age and seems to be running fine. I am more than happy with the price I paid for it - none of this nonsense that seems to be...

11 years mate! The longest time I have kept an off roader by about 10 years :grinning:

Anybody's old Truck? I might switch to the clean stuff!

I couldn't do it Karl. I stopped the sale, manned up and hit the mud. Poor thing needs some love right now before neglect kicks in.
